AP allocates 800 acres to Jindal Steel
The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) has approved several proposals including an investment of Rs 7,500 crore by Jindal Steel Andhra Limited, which is setting up an integrated steel plant in Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh.

The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) has approved several proposals including an investment of Rs 7,500 crore by Jindal Steel Andhra Limited, which is setting up an integrated steel plant in Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held the SIPB meeting here at Tadepalli. The Chief Minister okayed allotment of 860 acres, at Thamminapatnam in Nellore District, to Jindal Steel Andhra Ltd.
The integrated steel plant will have an annual production capacity of 2.25 million tonnes (MT) involving a total investment of Rs7,500 crore.
The company promised to provide employment to 2,500 people in next four years. Also, the board approved extension of the deadline to June 2022 for setting up of St. Gobain industry in Visakhapatnam district. The company had requested for an extension due to Covid pandemic. The company proposed to invest Rs 2,001 crore in three phases. The board has given approval to Pitti Rail Engineering Components Ltd at Kopparthi near Kadapa for manufacturing of electrical, locomotive, and industrial infrastructure at an investment of Rs 401 crore that would provide direct employment to 2,000 people. Similarly, the board gave a nod to Neelkamal Limited at Kopparthi for an investment of Rs 486 crore to manufacture furniture and other household items, by employing around 2,000 people.
